Kuala Lumpur Night Market Photos

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

The best way to experience the local culture, Malaysian’s night markets – better-known locally as ‘pasar malam’ - are a delightful and colourful affair. A bargain-hunter’s paradise, the pasar malam employs an open-air concept, where street vendors take over a stretch of road or street and peddle their wares along it. You can find almost everything under the sun here - from food and groceries to clothing and gadgets – and best of all, you can even haggle on the already dirt-cheap prices.

The Petaling Street, right in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, is perhaps Malaysia’s most well-known pasar malam. Abuzz with activity 24-7, Petaling Street is popular amongst tourists for the variety of goods it offers, some of which can’t be found anywhere else in the country. Equally exciting but less frequent are the pasar malam in the suburbs, which are held on a rotational basis on different nights of the week in different locations.
